Gilneas is one of the original founding nations of Azeroth, later a country in north Eastern Kingdoms. Although it is now abandoned, it is ruled by King Genn Greymane and those of House Greymane. Gilneas is an isolated country in north Eastern Kingdoms, surrounded by other Horde territorial countries in the Eastern Kingdoms.
At some point, the Worgen Curse was inflicted over Gilneas, a large amount of its population being afflicted by it, turning into the monstrous wolf-like worgen.
A very big tragedy that had occured during the Battle of Gilneas City was the death of Prince Liam Greymane, in which he sacrificed himself. And all thanks to the one in charge of the Forsaken, Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.
